Getting Creative

I offer 1:1 drawing lessons, as well as group workshops for 5 to 20 people, and I’m also happy to work alongside you for events and charities.

1:1 Drawing Lessons

I offer daytime and after school 1:1 art tutoring for £15 per hour from my home studio, to help develop and improve your drawing techniques.

Workshops

I’ve been involved in a few groups. My drawing workshops are a great way to learn to draw and pick up new skills in a relaxed and informal way with fully explained tutorials. Your group can be from 5 to 20 people, for all ages and for all levels of experience.

Events

For charity events and other events, let me know your needs and I hope to be able to work alongside you in the best way for you.

 1:1 Drawing Lessons

I offer daytime and after-school art tutoring from my home studio, and online, to help develop and improve your drawing techniques.

PRICE: £15 PER HOUR

With each one-hour drawing lesson, I hope to share the drawing skills I’ve picked up over the years, by teaching freehand drawing with a varied range of subjects. I aim to encourage you, to build up your own drawing style and techniques, and gently correct mistakes along the way.

I currently teach students after school, at an agreed weekly time but with no fixed commitments. I also offer tutoring to anyone during the day too, at a mutually agreed time.

I will pass on my drawing experience and skills in a way that’s easy for you to learn and will enable you to develop your own skills and techniques. I’d love to help you…

PRICE: £15 PER HOUR

What to Expect

I’ll give you tips on how to construct a drawing, from the initial positioning to adding your signature to your finished artwork at the end!

  • I teach you to draw at a level and pace you’ll feel comfortable with.

  • Each week I guide you through the chosen subject, drawing with you to show you what to do.

  • It’s important to learn different drawing techniques, so I guide you through the steps until you feel more confident.

  • As we progress, you’ll grow in confidence and feel competent to create your own drawing style and start to choose subjects you want to be able to draw.

 Good To Know

  • I provide all the paper and drawing materials for each drawing lesson.

  • You’ll take home a number of pieces of completed artwork for your family and friends as the weeks progress (dependent on how many lessons you book), and I also provide mounts to finish your work.

  • During each hourly session, you’ll learn new tips and drawing techniques, which will build up your own skills, and give you a sense of achievement.

  • You don’t need to enter into a contract.

  • I ask for payment for each drawing lesson on the day of the lesson or before. This can be by cash or by bank transfer.

  • I ask for 24 hours’ notice if you can’t make your next session.

  • If you would like to arrange a longer-term arrangement, please contact me to find out my availability.

My Teaching Approach

  • You’ll find my teaching approach to be relaxed, friendly and ready to go along at a pace that suits you.

  • I know that we all learn in different ways, and it’s important to be able to feel comfortable and not under any unnecessary pressure.

  • I will explain each drawing step in a clear way, give handy tips and show different techniques to achieve the best results.

1:1 Drawing Lesson - Testimonial

Georgie is a calm, patient and very friendly person. My daughter Andi is very happy with the drawing lessons with Georgie. In one year I can say that she has progressed quite a lot, improving her drawing techniques and self-confidence. Andi is very excited about each lesson with Georgie. I am amazed by each finished drawing, and I am sure that the lessons with Georgie will help Andi a lot in her GCSE in arts. Thanks, Georgie, you are doing an excellent job!

 Events

I’ve carried out a number of events and work with different charities each year to help raise funds for their chosen cause.

I’ve helped to raise money for a number of different charities over the years, by offering drawing commissions and other prizes. These include Parkinson’s, Wellspring Therapy and Training in Harrogate, Yorkshire Cat Rescue, and Harrogate and District Foundation Trust Maternity Unit.

I’ve also displayed with The White Rose Artists in Harrogate’s Valley Gardens and attended numerous other local events.  It’s always great to get out and about and meet people, and I love helping others when and where I can!

Event Testimonial

I highly recommend an Art Workshop with Georgie. We had a wonderfully creative experience and learnt about working with coloured pencils with a lovely tutorial of a cat amongst flowers. Georgie was so friendly and able to adapt herself to teaching beginners plus more experienced artists in our Group. We are looking forward to another planned Workshop with Georgie soon.
