My Process
FROM YOU, I NEED:
A good quality photograph (or photographs), to work from.
A 50% deposit before I start your commission, with the remainder to be paid upon satisfactory completion.
I WILL…
Advise you on which paper size and pencil medium is best for your drawing to suit your needs.
Send you updated photos from my drawing process every few days, giving you confidence about the final result.
I’m usually able to work to a deadline if you need a special gift for a certain date or event, and I can create bespoke pieces of artwork that you may not find elsewhere.
I’m also very adaptable, so can meet different needs, options and challenges, along the way.
Price:
Commission rates start at £90 for a single subject A5 drawing.
The drawings I produce are very detailed and time-consuming, so I don’t take on commissions for quick sketches and I would not accept work of a sensitive or explicit nature.
If you need my advice on framing, please get in touch.

Portrait Commissions
Through years of experience, continual practice, and constant self-challenge, I’ve learned to be confident in the work I produce, and this adds greatly to the joy I feel as I work.
As I specialise in drawing portraits, I love being commissioned to draw individual or family portraits. Drawing pets and animals is a pleasure too, and a pencil drawing is such a personal and touching way to capture your loved one.
Over the years, I’ve developed a skill for merging photographs in portrait commissions, allowing me to produce touching memorial drawings, or bringing family members together from several different places, and even continents in a drawing!
With prints and commissions, I’ve often been told that I can capture emotion in a drawing, whether that’s of a person or a pet. I also strive to create a very good likeness, which I feel is essential to the end result.
I get asked to do a lot of memorial portraits and this can be such a beautiful way to honour the memory of someone you’ve lost. It’s a privilege to have worked with many clients in this area, and as this means dealing with often raw emotions, building mutual trust and understanding is vital.
